(Inspired by) Inside Out Project

Launched by french artist JR, the Inside Out Project is a global art platform that helps communities around the world stand up for what they believe in and inspire global change on the ground. Group leaders create their actions by hanging large-scale black and white portraits of members of their community in public places, creating a public art installation. Over half a million people in more than 150 countries and territories have participated in group actions centered around a range of issues including diversity, feminism, racism, climate change, education, and art. To execute such an initiative, one option is to rent a converted van equipped with a photo booth. The printed large-format portraits, which were previously taken indoors, emerge from the side wall of the van.

In collaboration with the Inside Out team, a mobile photo booth was developed to fit into the MUSEUM EXPRESS backpack. Serving as a scaled-down rendition of the original concept, it can now be deployed anywhere.
