Museum Express

Personal Art Delivery Service

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if art could be delivered right to your doorstep? Imagine enjoying an intimate art exhibition with friends or family from the comfort of your couch, wearing sweatpants. Or surprising colleagues with a pop‑up art event during lunch break. How great would it be if an exhibition could happen anywhere, at any time? Inspired by exactly this idea, artist Sebastian Jung founded the Museum Express, a personal art‑delivery service.

Since 2021, he has been bringing international artists to families, companies, schools, and social institutions (e.g. retirement homes) – carrying a converted mini‑museum on his back. What can people expect from an art delivery? A Museum Express mini‑exhibition is always a surprise. The backpack’s contents stay secret until the visit begins – you’ll only know once you book it.

The concept goes far beyond a classic museum trip: it offers a custom, entertaining art encounter that can be integrated into any personal or professional setting. Each session is personally hosted by Sebastian Jung.

The Exhibition Space

Museum Express – Hoker One (Steffen Mumm)

The exhibition space of the Museum Express is a converted delivery backpack, equipped with a white cube, LED lighting, and a mini museum shop. The 36 × 36 × 34 cm interior accommodates a single artwork. The compact format invites exploration: the backpack can serve as display space, transport container, or interactive setting, depending on the artist’s concept.

It can also serve as a pop-up museum in public spaces such as parks, pedestrian zones, or trade fairs, with the bicycle transformed into a presentation platform for the backpack. Artists can even repurpose the backpack entirely, as seen in the exhibition featuring the Inside Out Project.
